What a project organizer should do
At minimum, it should let you create a project, attach or reference its pattern, write notes, and save where you stopped. Helpful extras include a progress counter, a project list, and a way to keep reference material close by.

Keep the comparison honest
Some tools focus on inventory, some on pattern discovery, and some on counting. Decide whether your main problem is finding patterns, remembering progress, or managing active projects. A smaller tool that solves your repeated problem is usually more useful than a larger tool you rarely update.
